ASE test certifications do not make you any more money. At least at the dealership level. Most places don’t pay you anymore for them. It just helps the dealership and the management get their kickbacks. Hell, we have Master Diag Certified techs for Toyota that do nothing but BG flushes all day long. Give them a wheel bearing to diagnose and look out. They are lost. ASE tests only prove how much you know from a book, not how much you can actually fix.
At Cummins they dont give a rats ass if your ASE certified, they want you to be Cummins certified .
being ASE certified is a big thing. Its kind of like the universal certification that everyone accepts and shows how much you know. getting all the certs make you a ASE Master Tech… and that is something to be very proud of. infact, the average master tech makes from 70-110k a year.
con job… ?
