Stihl FS80 / FS85 Instruction Manual : www.stihlusa.com I would like to fix this one but finding a new drive shaft may be difficult. Since it’s pretty much worthless without a tank, starter, gearbox, drive cable, and a cutting head I will keep it here. The fire station has six or seven Stihl brush cutters. Most of them have 4 mix engines. If the office doesn’t want this one I will ask if I can fix it for myself. Without a parts trimmer in decent condition this repair may not be possible. UPDATE : I found a publicly available parts diagram. Removed the cylinder to check the piston, rings, con. rod, and cylinder walls. Everything looks good but I would like to replace the cylinder due to broken cooling fins.

?!Comment!? This is my second video to convince people that any good name brand commercial trimmer will last you. I prefer redmax but also have a stihl. A heavy unit but built well. I love my redmax!!!! Update: The flex cable in the stihl frayed on the end and broke I took it to the dealer where he said it’s a common problem, however, it will be fixed under warranty.
