The night of April 14, 2011, two men burglarized Sharps Outdoor Power Equipment in Georgetown. An employee who was sleeping there awoke to glass breaking, grabbed a .357 Magnum handgun and fired one shot after say he reached for something in his waistband, ignoring an order to stop. That man, James Stapleton, died at the scene. Prosecutors said it was self defense and the victim wasn’t charged. The repeat felon accomplice, Andrew M. Sidden, pleaded guilty Aug. 30, 2011 in King County Superior Court. Read more at seattlepi.com.
