There is something fascinating about electric motors… particularly those that are home-built. Too many assume that building nice pieces of machinery requires special tools and materials. On the contrary, all of the machinery that appears in this video was built from scrap– discarded office equipment, garage cast-offs, household garbage, and select pickings from garage sales, church sales, and second-hand stores. Moreover, the pieces can be fashioned and fitted together with nothing more than hand tools. This video is posted in anticipation of my third book, which is entitled “Marvelous Magnetic Machines.” In this book I will explore the principles behind each of motors depicted in this video, and insight into how you can build your own.
