The School of Construction, Motor Vehicle and Engineering offers a full range of courses in Construction trades such as Brickwork, Joinery and Electrical Installation and in Engineering trades such as Motor vehicle servicing and repair. Facilities are first class, boasting industry standard equipment and workshops that provide realistic, industrial working environments. Many of the courses in the School are practical based with underpinning knowledge provided to support the development of hands on skills. In Joinery courses, students first learn how to produce basic woodworking joints and how to use carpentry and joinery hand tools, and later produce window frames, doors, staircases and roofing structures. In the Motor vehicle workshop, learners experience live demonstrations and exercises in understanding engines, transmissions and chassis.
