LS2 Water Pump Replacement C6 Corvette

I made this video to demonstrate the replacement procedure for a water pump on a C6 2005 Corvette LS2 6.0 liter engine. It wasn’t that difficult to complete. I deliberately used nothing but hand tools to show that it is something anyone could do without air tools. the whole repair took a total of 3 hours from start to finish including the time it took to purge out the air. after completed, Fill the tank with dexcool and run the engine. turn the heater on so the heater core will fill with fluid. fill as required until warmed up. shut off the engine and let it cool off completely, that will ensure all the air comes out. You may need to allow the car to sit a long wile to cool down completely.after cool, top it off and run it for a while until the cooling fans cycle to make sure it runs at proper temp. Thanks for watching.

NASA Parachute Packing for Ares 1-X Flight Test

At the Parachute Refurbishment Facility at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida, booster recovery parachutes are being prepared and packed for the Ares IX flight test targeted for the summer of 2009. Aided by an overhead monorail system, experienced parachute technicians begin the packing process by delicately stepping into the canister and tying down sections of the canopy. Each 2000-pound canopy consists of strong strips of material sewn together in a lattice-work design, which looks similar to a pie-crust top, suspended by 165-foot suspension lines. This design allows the wind to flow through the blossoming canopy, stabilizing the entire stack. The intricate packing process and specific placement in the canister is important for the canopy to open properly. The three colossal-sized parachutes cover more than two acres when opened and each chute from end-to-end is 325 feet long. Designed larger and stronger than the space shuttle booster recovery system, the Ares system requires three chutes to support a more than 200000-pound object falling from an altitude of 189000 feet. Although the chutes are bigger than their shuttle predecessors, they still fit into the same-sized container thanks to the use of Kevlar, a material that makes the Ares parachutes stronger and lighter. Technicians, using a hydraulic press and hand tools, compress the contents to fit snugly inside its canvas cover bag, completing the packing process. The parachute system will enable the spent rocket

DIY: Mounting a motorcycle tire tutorial

This video is a walk-through/tutorial on how to mount a new motorcycle tire. I bought a new tire way back in a video Shopping with Skeefoo, and I’m just now getting around to installing it. This was the first time I’d ever mounted my own tire. I think it’s one of those things a lot of riders are afraid to do, and prefer to spend the money having a professional do it. I used a couple of cheap tire levers (amzn.to and had my new rubber mounted, tube back in, and wheel on the bike in only about 30 minutes. This certainly isn’t rocket science. You just need a couple of levers and a bit of determination and you will be changing your own tires in no time at all. Save your money, ride more. One of the more difficult parts of the install was getting the valve stem of the tube back through the rim. I had to monkey with it for quite a while. Someone suggested I pick up on of these handy Valve Stem Pullers (amzn.to Looks like a great idea. I didn’t worry about balancing the tire, this ain’t no race bike if you know what I mean. I’ve since had it over 60 mph a few times and haven’t noticed any vibrations from the tire. Having the proper tools, and knowing how to change/repair a tire on the side of the road is a skill every adventure rider should know. I road from Utah to Panama on my BMW and had no clue what to do if I got a flat tire. I didn’t even have the tools to take the wheel off. Thankfully luck was on my side during that ride, and I didn’t have any problems.
