It just kept snowing. By the time it ended on January 8, 1996, there was more than two feet on the ground where we lived, and deeper drifts around the cars. And me, I had only a snow shovel — no power equipment. It got tiring… Although I got a lot done by the next day, you’ll see there was still a long way to go…

…lol. you have no idea how those awd/4wd vehicles work, do you? lmfao, fool
youewb06, climate has nothing to do with that. They’re just a rare breed. 1-2 a decade.
Damn I was a young when the Blizzard hit, I remember the snow came up to my waist. Most I ever seen at that point (matter-of-fact one of my oldest (vivid) memories of snow).
I was a dumb kid. Real dumb. I decided to commute from PA to NJ that night – in a Camaro. Bad idea. Really Bad.
I made it home eventually…about 10 hours later for a normally 2 hour drive.
The best part was when I shut my car off it would not restart because the starter had died. Scary stuff in a storm like that.
about 25 inches of snow fell and this year we’ve been lucky just recently we got 3 inches of snow and that’s nothing compared to 12 years ago.
same thing eric, my name is erick and i was 10 years old as well, well 9 at the time but anyways i was living in corona queens and it was crazy
It was impossible for me to even ope nmy front door that morning to shovel. I was 10 years old that year but I was actually 9. There was 2 feet of snow. the most snow I expersived.
i was born january 8, 1996!!!! my mom said it was hard to shovel the car when she went into labor…
who can forget this storm i was 19 and it seamed like we were trapped in the house for 3 days before we finaly went out to shovel and plow and even then it was still snowing huge flakes
You go bad ass. Go ahead and think your almighty where as you can get stuck or get into an accident just as easy as someone in a small car with front wheel drive. You need to think clearly not like your some person who is untouchable.
I remember that blizzard. I was 5 years old when it happened. Was up at my uncle’s place in Woodinville when it started. Took at least 3 hours just to get back to Seattle
With the climate the way it is we’ll never see snow like this again. It would be nice though
i remember that one…i was living in nj at the time. one of my neighbors was a cop and he had a snow blower to dig his car out. well, i was parked next to him so i got a big break with clearing that 2 feet of snow from my car.
that measurment wasnt right because you were counting the snow that you dug out from your car
Ahhh… winter in Pennsylvania…. brutal as it gets. And I’m originally from Winnipeg, Manitoba, CANADA too!!
Where in Baltimore was this?
such a bad storm, my house was some 15 yards from my house and i remember my mom making me carry a stick so she could see me. i was just about 8 at the time and it took my aout 10 minutes to make my garage since the snow took came up to almost half as high as i was
I am a Philadelphian. Even the Presidents Day storm of 2003 which gave us nearly 19 inches doesn’t even come close to the record breaking 30.7 inches that was recorded for Philly back in ‘96.
lol
it hasn’t snowed like that since then!!!
Not far from Allentown, in eastern Pennsylvania.
What city was this?
